Peter York
Peter York – Wedding Celebrant
Peter York has the experience, sincerity and style to provide just the right level of an individually tailored service. Tact and a gift for knowing what the client wants are just some of the qualities of a trained Civil Celebrant. Weddings are not always the same strictly traditional affair they used to be.
Couples wanting a civil ceremony have a choice of marrying at any licensed venue, at any time of day, and on any day of the week. The only part of this day that remains the same is the ceremony itself – which, surprisingly, is actually the most meaningful and important part of the day.
Why can’t you take your vows exactly the way you want?
Peter York a professional celebrant says you can!
Peter has over 45 years experience in the wedding industry being one of the UK’s top wedding toastmasters, but having more than one string to his bow he also performs a beautiful wedding ceremony as a Professional Celebrant – the way couples want it – a tailored service that they will treasure forever. Don’t do it any old way, do it the Peter York way!

Peter York – Funeral Celebrant
The celebrated doyen toastmaster and Master of Ceremonies for over 45 years Peter York is successfully conducting Celebrant Funeral ceremonies – a founder of the County Celebrant Network – in the Hampshire Berkshire and surrounding counties.
Peter says, “Celebrant funerals offer a personal and fitting way to support families in saying goodbye to their loved ones especially those who have lived their lives with little or no religion”.
During the family visit Peter focuses on the life that their deceased loved one led, the relationships he or she forged, and the legacy they left, absolutely believing that every life is individual and valuable.
His Ceremonies are both a celebration of a life and a dignified, sad but loving farewell, portraying a sincere, personal reflection on the life of their loved one.
Peter York is a sensitive celebrant, he is empathetic to the experience of bereavement, recently having lost a loving partner of 48 years himself he understands total loss and grief.
He is familiar with cremation and burial procedures and will guide you through the whole process of arranging a funeral ceremony.
Peter will advise on practical matters, such as the amount of time available for the ceremony at the crematorium.
He will closely listen to your ideas on music, poems, readings etc, and he can also make suggestions that you feel may work for your family, especially during any complicated or difficult circumstances
Finally, Peter will discuss with you how to individualise the ceremony, your wishes, your ideas, whilst always drawing on his experience and expertise.
His calm presence on the day conducting the ceremony with warmth, feeling and dignity will be a fitting, special, end of life celebration that is a truly sensitive, imaginably creative, and loving farewell.
