What a journey life is! One thing I have learned along the way so far? The importance of doing what you love. Our passions are our soul’s voice.
I’m privileged to hold funeral services, each one individually written with care to celebrate the life, and mark the passing, of a family’s loved one. I work closely with the family to understand the best, most fitting way to do this, through singing and music, readings, poetry and personal tributes.
At every step of the way I’m available to the family to advise, guide and support. On the day of the funeral itself, I consider it my honour to hold a service which truly celebrates and gives thanks for the life of the loved one, whilst also recognising and respecting the grief and loss of those present.
As an experienced teacher of English as a Foreign language, I’m fortunate to also work in another area close to my heart and soul. Knowing first-hand the importance (and comfort) of having a competent English speaker look after my loved one who had lived overseas in his latter years, I now offer individual tutoring, online group sessions and ad hoc support to my fellow celebrants and any other colleagues working in the funeral sector for whom English is a second language.
The support I offer is entirely bespoke and will assist wherever the learner most needs it, for example: improving spoken English, interacting with customers and suppliers, role-specific vocabulary, cultural nuances around death and funerals.
I’m based in Marlborough, Wiltshire, and cover the surrounding areas. I’m also open to travelling further afield as needed.
