Pansy is a qualified, professional independent Civil Celebrant, who finds supporting families and individuals to celebrate the life of a loved one both rewarding and fulfilling. She feels a deep sense of responsibility, and considers it a privilege to guide people experiencing a bereavement through their most difficult times, while performing a final act of service and devotion towards the deceased person. She empathises with people left bewildered by the process of carrying out their loved one’s last wishes. A warm, sincere person with the strength to attend you during your time of loss, she offers you the comfort and reassurance of her care, skill and dedication. She transforms your memories into beautiful words which celebrate and reflect upon the life of the person who has passed away.

Pansy offers a bespoke service to create a unique and meaningful funeral, celebration of life ceremony, memorial, interment, or scattering of ashes, giving your loved one the respect and dignity they deserve, and a fitting occasion to remember them in the way in which they would want to be remembered. She is pleased to officiate at any funeral or celebration of life ceremony, be it traditional or civil, formal or informal, with or without religious or spiritual elements. Ceremonies take place at a wide variety of locations, and music, readings and visual elements may be included. She can design humanist, eco, Pagan, biker, military or pet funerals, alternative, inclusive and accessible occasions. She works within the LGBTQIA+ and multicultural communities, has undertaken disability awareness and anti-racism training, is a dementia-friendly practitioner, and DBS checked to work with elderly and vulnerable people.

Pansy will liase with your Funeral Director to advise on venue, and organise, lead and facilitate on the day. Perhaps you are considering a dove release, bagpiper, book of condolence, or require a BSL interpreter? No request is too big or small, though some may incur additional fees. A video weblink can be provided to share the occasion with family and friends overseas or who are unable to travel. She also offers her services to clients planning their own funerals, or those receiving end-of-life care, to ensure she is available as the celebrant of their choice.

The initial meeting takes place in your home or at a suitable location, and Pansy will listen with compassion and empathy while she consults with you about the tone and content of the ceremony you would like to provide for your loved one. She will patiently address any concerns you may have; the service you plan together is above all an opportunity to reminisce, call to mind happy memories, and share them with others. With courtesy she will exercise diplomacy in including those who wish to speak publicly, encouraging their participation in honouring the memory of the individual who has passed away with personal tributes, stories and experiences. For clients who are unable to meet face-to-face, a telephone or e-meeting can be arranged.

Once your initial appointment is complete, Pansy will set the order of service and write an emotive and interesting eulogy reflecting your loved one’s wishes and beliefs, send copies for your approval, and make any necessary amendments. At the ceremony, she will conduct the service, deliver the eulogy, and provide practical support. Pansy’s fees for this service are fixed, and meet industry standards. She also offers an additional life story writing service.

Pansy works throughout Wiltshire, South West England, South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire, and nationwide upon request. She is available for consultation seven days per week, including out of hours.
