Sharon Fielder

Hello and welcome – My name is Sharon, and I live in Reading.  Over the last few years, I have found myself searching for a role that allows me to work with people in a way that serves a deep and meaningful purpose.  I have thoroughly enjoyed working in the health care sector for the last 32 years, having naturally enhanced my passion for supporting people through just about anything and I am incredibly proud of my current role as Wellbeing Coordinator for Sue Ryder.  This additional step seems a perfect fit and I am excited for my journey as a Celebrant. 

Having lived a varied life of ups and downs, I have developed a wide range of empathetic, nurturing and empowering skills.  I realise how important it is to have someone who understands and genuinely cares about you, your needs and your choices.  This is true for both weddings and funerals, and I really look forward to walking alongside you on your journey.

Weddings
As a wedding Celebrant I specialise in working with you to ensure that we create your perfect day.  Through the sharing of your stories of how you came together, the fun you have (and the trials), your quirky moments and the things that you adore about each other (and those you don’t!), we will create beautiful vows and a memorable ceremony for you to treasure.

I love working with bridal couples, whether they be a traditional male/female couple or a same sex marriage and I fully support the LGBQT community. I am especially happy to carry out pet weddings because who said love should be restricted to “hoomans” (humans).

Funerals
My goal is to deliver a deeply personalised, engaging ceremony representative of your loved one.  I am keen to ensure that everyone receives a thoughtful, dignified and fitting tribute to the life they have lived. We will achieve this through storytelling, creativity, appropriate humour, readings and music. 

I know working together at a time like this won’t be easy, but I hope that I can help you to revive some happy memories that will be searchingly reflective, hopeful, joyful and loving.

As a funeral celebrant I aim to bring comfort to grieving families, relieving some of the burden you are faced with, to bring satisfaction in the knowledge that by working together we can create a memorable funeral service that truly celebrates the life shared with your loved one, in a way that brings healing and comfort to everyone present.

In addition to this, I offer a unique pre-bereavement service with those enduring a life limiting illness.  If you would like to have your say at a time when your loved ones are gathered to say their goodbyes to you, I will theoretically (and literally if asked) hold your hand while we create the sincerest words of love and reassurance.  On your behalf, I will lovingly read your heartfelt message and ensure your presence is truly felt and reflected in your service.  While I know this will not be an option for some people, I am there for those that feel it is.

Along with weddings and funerals, I can deliver memorial services, baby naming ceremonies, renewal of vows and special words for the intern or scattering of ashes.  If you simply need help to write (and read) a eulogy or find the words for the loss you feel for a much loved pet – I am here for you.
